They told Mayor Albee Benitez in a meeting at the Bacolod City Government Center on Monday, July 1, that some neighbors received assistance despite not meeting requirements.

Benitez explained the qualification process.

He told them to submit their names with certification from the barangay and their association to enable the Department of Social Welfare and Development to confirm their identities and pave the way for them to receive assistance from the national government.

Benitez stressed that beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program, also known as 4Ps, and those who have availed of the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) in the past three months are not qualified.

Also ineligible were job order casual employees.

On June 27, 4,000 residents here who were affected by the El Niño phenomenon received P10,000 cash assistance each from PAFFF in a ceremonial distribution led by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. at the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos (UNO-R) football field in this city.

The President turned over P10 million in support to the city government.
