Resist 'bed weather': Stop making babies if you don't have a permanent job, Guanzon tells Pinoys

Couples that don't have a steady form of livelihood should resist the temptation of "bed weather" and the procreation that might sprout from it. 

P3PWD Party-list nominee Rowena Guanzon gave this piece of advice to Filipinos, whose perennial problem of poverty could be traced to the country’s swollen population. 

"Malamig ngayon pero huwag gawing dahilan para bumuo nanaman ng bata, lalo na kung walang permanenteng trabaho ang asawa," Guanzon said in a Facebook post on Monday, July 28. 

(The weather has been cool lately but don't use this as an excuse to make babies, especially if the spouse doesn't have a permanent job.) 

"Jusmiyo marimar! kaya lubog ang Pilipinas e di na kayang buhayin, parang hamster anak ng anak 😵‍💫," added the outspoken former Commission on Elections (Comelec) Commissioner. 

(My goodness, marimar! The reason why the Philippines is deep in poverty, is the hamster-like production of children.) 

Based on Worldometer elaboration of the latest United Nations (UN) data, the current population of the Philippines as of Sunday, July 28 is 119,227,743. 

Typhoon "Carina" and the southwest monsoon recently brought heavy rains and floods to different parts of the country.
