Remy Monteverde, Mother Lily's husband, passes away at 86

Award-winning director Erik Matti paid tribute to Father Remy in a social media post.

Leonardo "Remy" Monteverde, husband of Regal Entertainment producer Mother Lily Monteverde, passed away on July 29. He was 86.

Father Remy is survived by wife Lily Chu-Monteverde, Roselle, Dondon, and Goldwyn.

His wake will be held at 38 Valencia Events Place in Quezon City from 3 p.m. to 11 p.m. on July 30, 2024.

On July 31, 2024 (Wednesday) to Aug. 2, 2024 (Friday), the schedule of the wake will be from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Daily masses will be held at 7 p.m.

Award-winning director Erik Matti paid tribute to Father Remy in a social media post. He wrote:

"To the Monteverde family Lily Monteverde Meme, Roselle Monteverde Dondon Monteverde and Goldwyn our deepest sympathies for the passing of Father Remy Monteverde.

"His legacy and contribution to Philippine cinema through Regal Films will always be remembered and recognized.

"He has championed Filipino action movies and defined them for so many decades, with such icons as Lito Lapid and Ace Vergel headlining the marquee. Rest in peace, Father."
