Aaron Fuller stamped his class and exploded for 34 points after presiding over a scintillating first half for the Elasto Painters who already had 77 points on the board at the break.
The Green Archers tried to match the offensive firepower but the Elasto Painters simply had too many weapons as six other players reached double figures led by Andrei Caracut, Gian Mamuyac and Keith Datu.
Rain or Shine, which was preparing for the upcoming PBA Governors’ Cup, came out unscathed, winning all of its four games in the four-team tournament that also included fellow PBA squads Phoenix and Converge.
Caracut amply supported Fuller with 21 points and eight assists while Mamuyac and Datu chipped in 17 points apiece. Anton Asistio also finished with 14 points while Jhonard Clarito and Adrian Nocum were the other double-digit scorers with 10 each.
Kevin Quiambao tried to carry the fight for the UAAP champions after putting up a stellar double-double of 19 points and 16 rebounds but to no avail.
Mike Phillips chipped in 18 points and eight rebounds while CJ Austria had 14 points for the Green Archers who are preparing for the 2024 World University Basketball Week in Japan.
Meanwhile, Phoenix picked up its first and only win in the tournament to claim the third place.
The Fuel Masters overcame the Converge FiberXers, 87-80, with Jay McKinnis showing the way with 22 points and 17 rebounds.
It was a redemption of sorts for Phoenix after Converge came out victorious in their meeting with a pulsating 132-127 overtime win.
