The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) deployed 886 personnel on Monday, July 29, for Oplan Balik Eskwela.
This is to ensure order and safety for teachers, students, and parents who will go to schools today.
According to the Quezon City government, 143 schools opened their classes on Monday while 15 other schools deferred the opening of their classes due to Typhoon “Carina.”
In addition to police personnel, more than 700 force multipliers, including Barangay Peacekeeping Action Teams (BPATs), village watchers, traffic enforcers, and security guards were also deployed across the city.
Meanwhile, 117 Police Assistance Desks (PADs) will also be set up to enhance response capabilities among communities.
QCPD Director Redrico Maranan assured that there will be police visibility near educational institutions, transport terminals, and crowded areas.
“The initiative focuses on preventing and addressing crime incidents that may impact students, teachers, and parents/guardians. This is also to assist schools affected by Typhoon Carina in their recovery efforts,” he said.
