CAVITE – The oil spill from the sunken tanker MT Terra Nova near Limay, Bataan, has reached the coastal barangays of Cavite.
In a Facebook post, Gov. Jonvic Remulla said the effects of the oil spill in Cavite had been observed since early morning on Monday, July 29.
“OIL SPILL ALERT. Coastal barangays of Ternate, Maragondon, Naic, and parts of Tanza will be affected,” the governor said.
“Naramdaman na ng bahagya kaninang madaling araw. Papunta na po ang Team Cavite para sa assistance.”

The Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, meanwhile, told the Manila Bulletin that the Philippine Coast Guard and the Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office are still “monitoring and assessing the coasts of Cavite.”
