198,000 students return  to school in Zamboanga City

ZAMBOANGA CITY – More than 198,000 students returned to classes here on Monday, July 29, the start of school year 2024-25.

The Division of City Schools said there are 198, 850 elementary pupils and secondary students here and the number is expected to rise after data for late enrollees are submitted.

It said that 99,899 are female and 98,951 are male.

Police and barangay personnel were deployed within the vicinity of schools to ensure order.

Mayor John Dalipe wished students all the best on the start of the new school year and reiterated his commitment to support the education sector.
