Septuagenarian drowns in pond in Cagayan

RIZAL, Cagayan – A 78-year-old woman suffering from Alzheimer’s disease drowned in a pond near her house in Barangay Annaguan here on Friday, July 26.

Police Executive Master Sergeant Ariel Simon of the municipal police station identified the victim as Felipa Bambalan. 

Investigation said the victim was drinking liquor on Thursday night, July 25, and was not seen after.

Bambalan’s body was found floating by a close relative on Friday morning.

Police said the victim might have slipped and drowned in the pond which was 300 meters away from her house while she was roaming.

Lawmen see no foul play on the victim’s drowning.
