“Law enforcement operations will be intensified to prevent the occurrence of crime and to prevent the lawless elements from launching their evil plans,” added Wanky.
Police unit commanders in Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Guimaras, Iloilo, and Negros Occidental provinces as well as the highly urbanized cities of Iloilo and Bacolod were given orders to ensure the safe and orderly opening of classes.
Lawmen have coordinated with the Department of Education (DepEd) and local government units (LGUs) for maximum deployment of police personnel within school vicinities.
Police will also be deployed to secure transportation hubs and main thoroughfares.
Police Lt. Col. Arnel Solis, PRO-6 chief information officer, said force multipliers such as barangay tanods or watchmen and traffic aides will also be deployed.
The PRO-6 urged parents, students, and the public to be vigilant to avoid becoming victims of lawless elements.
