CAMP FLORENDO, La Union – An American tourist drowned in the sea at Saud Beach Resort in Barangay Saud, Pagudpud, Ilocos Norte on Saturday afternoon, July 27.

The victim was identified only as John.
Police said residents recovered the victim and responding personnel of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) conducted first aid and brought him to a hospital where he was declared dead.
Meanwhile, the bodies of two men were found in two towns in La Union on Saturday and Sunday morning, July 28.
Police identified the victims as Jian Nacionales, 20, a resident of Purok 2, Santo Domingo Norte, Luna, La Union, and Nebrado Gonzales, 59, farmer, of Barangay Rimos 5, Luna.
The body of Nacionales was found by his brother in a rice field 200 meters away from their house in Purok 2 before dawn on Sunday.
Police said the victim left their house at around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday to catch frogs.
Nacionales had been dead for six hours when he was found. Initial findings said that a snake bite killed him.
The body of Gonzales was found by residents on the shoreline of Barangay Mindoro, Bangar, La Union on Saturday.
Police said the victim to his flooded farm to feed his carabao but failed to return home.
A post-mortem examination said the victim died due to drowning.
