Teenage boy fatally shoots Mandaue City cop

CEBU CITY – A policeman was fatally shot after he allegedly reprimanded a boy in Barangay Banilad, Mandaue City, Cebu at past midnight on Saturday, July 27.

The victim was identified as Staff Sgt. Orvin Seth Kim Felicio, an intelligence officer of the Police Station 5 of the Mandaue City Police Office (MCPO).

A 16-year-old boy was arrested after he was identified as the alleged perpetrator. The boy was turned over to the Women and Child Protection Desk, said Police Patrolman Jemson Tolin, investigator of MCPO Station 4.

According to the police, the victim noticed a boy acting suspiciously on P. Remedios St. around 12:10 a.m.

The policeman called the boy’s attention and a gunshot rang out.

Patrolling personnel of the Barangay Public Safety Office found the bloodied policeman slumped on the ground.

Emergency responders rushed the victim to a hospital where he was declared dead, police said.
