Sandara Park sheds tears about 2NE1’s comeback: ‘It still feels like a dream’

Sandara Park, or Dara, became emotional and shed tears about 2NE1’s comeback to the music scene after eight years.

The “2024 2NE1’s Concert [Welcome Back] In Seoul” will be held on Oct. 5 and 6 at the Olympic Hall in Olympic Park.

This will be 2NE1’s first concert in 10 years and seven months since holding their “All or Nothing” concert in Seoul on March 1 and 2, 2014.

The venue also holds a special meaning for 2NE1 as the Olympic Hall was where they held their first ever concert in Korea, “2NE1 1st Live Concert: Nolza!,” on Aug. 26 to 28, 2011.

On July 26, Sandara was a guest on the SBS radio program “Cultwo Show.”

The hosts congratulated 2NE1 on their comeback and Sandara started to get teary-eyed about it.

"I've really waited for this too, and I'm so happy that I can proudly talk to our fans after eight years," she said.

One of the hosts said, "Dara's talking with red eyes right now.”

"Because the news came out and I've received congratulations from so many people," Sandara said while in tears.

Sandara revealed that 2NE1 members, including CL, Park Bom and Minzy, have started practicing for the concert this week.

"It's still like a dream, it's so good. It feels good, even though it's so hard to practice. We started practicing this week and we've been working hard. We're dancing for seven hours non-stop, and we're all four working hard because we know this moment is precious. This is what it means to be full even if you don't eat," Sandara said, Dispatch reported.

After Seoul, 2NE1 will hold concerts in Japan on Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 at Kobe World Hall and Dec. 14 and 15 at Tokyo Ariake Arena.

“(Fans) told me not to promote it because it's hard to get tickets, but we're having a concert on 5 and 6 October at the Olympic Hall in Seoul. It's meaningful because it's where I had my debut concert," according to Sandara.

About the Seoul venue, CL described it on Instagram as “reconnecting from where we started.”

Sandara said their world tour will be held until the first half of 2025.

"We are trying to go to Kobe, Japan, Tokyo Dome, and as many other countries as possible. We are practicing hard and will continue to tour until the first half of next year. The members are going to stop their individual activities and go all-in on 2NE1," she added.

In Manila, 2NE1 held their "All or Nothing" concert on May 17, 2024 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena. A day before the concert, 2NE1 held a press conference at Shangri-La Plaza in Mandaluyong.

2NE1 debuted in 2009 and disbanded after seven years in 2016.
