Police net P35-M shabu, marijuana, 6 drug pushers

CAMP DANGWA, Benguet â€“ Police seized suspected shabu and marijuana valued at P35 million in the Cordillera region from July 19 to 25.

The Police Regional Office-Cordillera Regional Operations Division said 25 anti-illegal drug operations were conducted in Apayao, Baguio City, Benguet, and Kalinga.

Seized in these operations were 14.87 grams of shabu, 0.05 grams of dried marijuana leaves and fruiting tops, and 175,630 fully grown marijuana plants worth P35,227,122.

These marijuana were incinerated onsite following thorough documentation.

Six suspected drug pushers were arrested, one high-value individual in Baguio City, and five street-level individuals, one in Baguio, two in Benguet, and one in Kalinga.

Suspects and pieces of evidence are in the custody of arresting units for documentation and proper disposition.

Suspects face drug-related charges.

Investigation is underway to locate other marijuana plantation sites and identify cultivators.
