Malabon City Mayor Jeannie Sandoval on Saturday, July 27, announced that the academic year 2024-2025 will start on August 5.

Sandoval said that due to the severe damage caused by Typhoon Carina and enhanced Habagat, the start of classes for the School Year 2024-2025 in 41 public elementary and secondary schools in Malabon will be postponed.
The mayor emphasized that this adjustment aims to give residents sufficient time to prepare for the upcoming school year.
“Dito sa Malabon, responsibilidad po natin ang kapakanan ng bawat magulang, mag-aaral, at mga guro (Here in Malabon, it is our responsibility to ensure the well-being of every parent, student, and teacher),” Sandoval said.
The city government, along with the Malabon School Divisions Office (SDO-Malabon), Malabon City Police Station (MCPS), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), and other local government agencies and organizations, participated in the ‘Brigada Eskwela’ kick-off on June 22.
