The offices of House Speaker Martin Romualdez and Tingog Party-list distributed on Friday, July 26 relief goods to victims of floods caused by Typhoon "Carina" in two barangays in the cities of Quezon and Marikina. 

Personnel of the Speaker’s office were joined by the staff of Tingog Party-list Reps. Yedda Marie Romualdez and Jude Acidre during the distribution. 

Some 531 families in low-lying Barangay Tumana, Marikina each received food packages consisting of rice, canned goods, blanket, and coffee. 

In Barangay Batasan Hills in Quezon City, 222 families received the same food packs.

The Speaker's office and Tingog Party-list said the assistance was their way of showing empathy and solidarity with the flood victims.

Speaker Romualdez earlier personally inspected flood control infrastructures in Navotas City and distributed relief goods. He also visited the cities of Quezon and San Juan to provide assistance. 

The House chief has called for the updating of the flood control masterplan in Metro Manila to prevent similar flooding in the future.
