Price freeze on medicines ordered in areas affected by ‘Carina’, ‘habagat’

In response to the widespread devastation caused by typhoon Carina and the southwest monsoon (habagat), the Department of Health (DOH) announced on Friday, July 26 a price freeze on certain medicines in some of the affected areas.

DOH released the list of medicines that will be subject to the price freeze. See the full list below:

According to DOH, the price freeze applies to essential medicines, including those used for treating common ailments, chronic conditions, and emergencies.

The price freeze will be implemented in Metro Manila, Batangas, Cainta (Rizal), Cavite, Pinamalayan (Oriental Mindoro), Bataan, and Bulacan.

The public is advised to report any instances of overpricing or violations to either DOH or the Department of Trade and Industry.
