Korean solo singer Gaho joins Kave to debut as a band

Korean singer-songwriter, Gaho, known for his original soundtrack (OST) songs for dramas, has officially debuted in a rock band called Kave.

Kave (abbreviation of Kings Always have Veiled Egos) debuted with the mini-album “Flight of Ideas” released on July 24.

The rock band is fronted by Gaho as the lead vocalist with members Jisang (guitar), Hyun (keyboard), Ownr (keyboard, DJ), and Kekinu (drums).

During Kave’s debut media showcase in Seoul on July 23, Gaho said Kave is the coming together of his friends from high school and college.

Though the group was first formed to produce music, the idea of playing musical instruments was later introduced, and the band Kave was born.

Gaho shared his hopes that listeners and fans can come to separate Gaho, the solo artist, from Kave’s Gaho and enjoy the different genres of music explored and released in the future.

“Flight of Ideas” includes seven self-composed and self-arranged tracks: “Venom,” “Legend,” “Hurricane,” “Dangerous,” “Avant,” “Crazy Crazy,” and “Die for U.”

The title track, “Legend,” is a hybrid electronic rock track with an intense and addictive hook. The textured vocals bring depth to the lyrics, which speak of conflict and struggle with one’s inner self or the alter ego.

Kave’s also released a short-form video for “Venom,” which was produced by Team Us, known as the choreography team behind artists including BoA, NCT, and The Boyz.

The band will make one of their first official appearances at the famed Incheon Pentaport Music Festival on Aug. 2.

Gaho's OST songs include "Yellow Light" for the drama "King the Land," "Somewhere in the Mist" for "Why Her," "Running" for "Start-Up" and "Start Over" for "Itaewon Class."

Last June 29, Gaho performed in the Philippines at the "OST Symphony: K-drama in Concert” featuring the Philippine Philharmonic Orchestra (PPO)

Held at the Metropolitan Theater, the concert was organized by the Korean Cultural Center (KCC) Philippines in collaboration with the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) and the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP).

Gaho X Kave performed at the “Hallyuween” show in Manila on Oct. 29, 2022 at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.
