Family of 3 hurt after wall collapses

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan – A mother and her two children were injured after a wall of their house under construction collapsed in Barangay Alimanao, Peñablanca, this province, on Thursday, July 25.

The Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO)-Peñablanca said the mother was cooking and her one- and three-year-old children were playing when the incident happened.

Barangay officials brought the victims to the Cagayan Valley Medical Center (CVMC) here. 

The mother sustained a fractured leg and her two children had minor injuries.

The MDRRMO said that the house's foundation was weak and located in a sloped area.

The soil softened due to continuous rain, causing the wall to collapse, the MDRRMO said.
