Vice Mayor Aguilar visits Las Piñas evacuees after Typhoon Carina, Habagat onslaught

Las Piñas City Vice Mayor April Aguilar visited the 131 families or 492 individuals that were evacuated during the onset of heavy rains and flooding caused by the southwest monsoon (Habagat) and Typhoon Carina.
Aguilar was joined by Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (DRRMO) head Alejandro Dela Merced during her visit at the flood evacuation sites in Barangays Manuyo Dos, Pulanlupa Dos, Elias Aldana and Manuyo Uno.
The DRRMO reported that six families or 17 individuals are sheltered at the evacuation site in Manuyo Dos and Gatchalian Phase 2 clubhouse in Barangay Manuyo Dos, 31 families or 120 individuals are staying at Manuyo Elementary School in Barangay Uno, and 93 families or 355 individuals are staying at Central Elementary School in Barangay Elias Aldana.
Seventeen individuals in Barangay Manuyo Dos already went back to their homes including 11 families that sought shelter in Barangay Pulanglupa Dos on July 25.
The vice mayor said the city government has prioritized the safety and well-being of its residents, immediately deploying resources to address the impacts of the flooding.
Aguilar said the local government's efforts include providing shelter, food, and medical assistance to those affected by the floods.
She explained that her visits are part of the ongoing initiatives to monitor the situation closely and coordinate with various agencies for effective disaster response and recovery.
