Packs of suspected shabu weighing 2.05 kilos with an estimated value of P13.9 million were seized from 31-year-old Argue Parame Rivas.
The buy-bust operation was conducted by operatives of the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit.
“This is the result of our sustained efforts to earn the trust and confidence of the community, ensuring integrity in the conduct of police operations in accordance with police operational procedures. We could not have achieved this without the overwhelming support from the Central Visayas community," said Police Brig. Gen Anthony Aberin, chief of the PRO-7.
Aberin said the PRO-7 will continue to pursue “an aggressive, focused, highly analytical, and human-right adherent drug campaign.”
Police said the suspect, a resident of Barangay Kalunasan, was a high-value individual.
The suspect claimed that he was only tasked to deliver the contraband and was paid P5,000 for the transaction.
Charges for violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against the suspect, police said.
