For the second straight year, University of Perpetual Help copped the best performing member school in the juniors division of the NCAA Season 99.

The Junior Altas amassed 804.5 points in 18 sporting events, beating Jose Rizal University (657.25) and Arellano (503), which took the second and third places, respectively.

The awarding took place in a turnover program for the centennial season of the grand old league at Casino Español de Manila in Ermita, Manila, where NCAA officials were present along with Lyceum which will be the host for the upcoming season.

Perpetual displayed superb performances in the track and field event where Pampanga trackster Marvin Ramos turned heads as he won both the Most Valuable Player and Rookie of the Year plums after dominating in 100m, long jump, 4x100m, and 4x400m relay events.

In boys’ basketball, Junior Altas stars Jhames Daep, JD Pagulayan, Icee Callangan and Louie Rosales were crowned as kings of 3x3 basketball. 

Daep and the Las Pinas-based crew also finished as runner-up in the boys’ 5x5 basketball as well as the Perpetual’s chess team which was guided by Kenneth Rovillos and Roel Abelgas.

The Altas Girls reigned supreme in the volleyball fiesta as they survived the Lady Braves in five sets. 

Gerald Aguilar, a Palarong Pambansa champion, Season 99 MVP and Rookie of the Year, led the Altas Spinners in table tennis after they dethroned reigning champ San Beda, 3-1, in the finals.
