House leader asks VP Sara to publicly support PBBM

A ranking congressman has appealed to Vice President Sara Duterte to publicly support the policies of her former "UniTeam" partner, President Marcos.

This, as House Majority Leader Zamboanga City 2nd district Rep. Mannix Dalipe cited the major pronouncements made by the Chief Executive in his recent SONA.

While Dalipe extended this call to "all government officials", he particularly gave special mention to the second highest official of the land.

"The Vice President's support is crucial in reinforcing our national unity and determination to address these pressing concerns," he said in a statement Thursday, July 25.

"In these challenging times, it is imperative that we stand together and support the President's policies that aim to safeguard our sovereignty and ensure the welfare of our people," added the Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD) member.

In his third SONA last Monday, July 22, Marcos reiterated his administration's strong and unwavering position on protecting the country's sovereignty in the West Philippine Sea (WPS) as well as announced a total ban on Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGO) due to their negative social and economic impacts.

Marcos and Duterte ran under the UniTeam banner during the May 2022 elections. They scored historic majority vote victories in the presidential and vice presidential race, respectively.
