GMA weather reporter Anjo Pertierra saves one bag as floods submerge his home in Marikina City

GMA Weather Reporter Anjo Pertirra recounted a terrifying ordeal when his home in Marikina City got flooded on Wednesday, July 24, as a result of heavy rainfall from typhoon Carina.

In a series of Instagram Reels, Anjo shared that he was only able to save a bag containing several clothes during the traumatic event.

Anjo was also rescued when the flood submerged his home. But like a real pro, Anjo reported for work today, July 25, to report the situation in Marikina City via the morning show "Unang Hirit."

The hunk weather reporter received praise from netizens for being professional.

In June 2023, Anjo joined the Kapuso Network as one of the presenters for the GMA Integrated News Weather Center.

Anjo is a professional volleyball player who later on became a sportscaster. He challenges himself anew as he gears up to deliver weather news and updates.

“Being a weather presenter para sa GMA Integrated News is something new for me. And alam kong may magandang dulot s’ya not just for myself but for everyone, especially sa mga Kapuso natin. Weather presenting is the hardest thing I've done so far. Kailangan mo siyang aralin, hindi pwedeng basta binabasa mo lang s’ya. Kaya nga noong nag training kami sa PAG-ASA, ang dami kong nalaman sa weather,” Anjo shared in 2023.

As the newest addition to the UH barkada, Anjo looks forward to helping viewers plan their day by giving them weather updates.

“Unang-una, ibibigay ko po sa inyo ‘yung energy na hinahanap natin sa umaga kasi kailangan pag gising natin good vibes lang kasi kung ano yung unang makikita natin at unang mararamdaman natin pag gising sa umaga madadala natin the whole day," Anjo said.
