5 dead, 3 injured in Central Luzon due to ‘Carina’


CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga – Five individuals were killed, three injured, and three missing in Pampanga, Bulacan, Zambales, and Bataan due to typhoon “Carina.”

The Police Regional Office-3 identified the fatalities as as Sweet Dimple Magat Pelayo and daughter Diana Joy Pelayo Cerezo, Norberto Alfonso, one unidentified female, and Roy Xavier Irtula Dumas.

Pelayo and Cerezo were buried alive in a landslide while sleeping in their house in Barangay Pampang, Angeles City, Pampanga,

Alfonso’s body was found inside his residence in Bulacan.

The unidentified female’s body was floating on the Angat River in Bulacan.

Dumas was found dead beside a river in Bulacan.

Injured were Nestor Manio Cerezo Jr., Roteza Ragenil, and Arturo Raginel.

Cerezo was injured due to a landslide that his house in Angeles City.

The Raginels were sleeping when acacia tree toppled on their house in Bataan. They suffered minor injuries taken to a hospital in Balanga City.

The three missing persons were identified as Jarrel Pangan of Bulacan, Narciso Damaso of Zambales, and an unidentified individual in Bataan.

Sixteen crew members were rescued and a colleague remain missing from a sunken vessel in the sea of Limay, Bataan.
