Wanted NPA rebel nabbed in Zambales

CAMP Olivas, City of San Fernando, Pampanga – A 56-year-old farmer and New People’s Army member listed as one of the most wanted persons in the Bicol region was arrested by the police in San Narciso, Zambales on Tuesday night, July 23.

Police Regional Office-3 Director Police Brig. Gen. Jose S. Hidalgo Jr. identified the suspect as Mario Hamton, alias Ka Alvin and a significant figure of the Celso Minguez Command of the NPA in Sorsogon.

Hamton was apprehended on a warrant for attempted homicide dated August 4, 2022 issued by Judge Emerson G. Carpio, acting presiding judge, Municipal Trial Court, Fourth Judicial Region, Magallanes, Sorsogon.

Bail for the suspect was set at P36,000.

Hamton was taken to the San Marcelino, Zambales Police Station for proper disposition.
