Philippine stock exchange resumes trading

The Philippine Stock Exchange (PSE) is scheduled to resume trading on Thursday, July 25, after its temporary suspension of trading on Wednesday due to Typhoon Carina and the southwest monsoon.

The PSE released a statement early Thursday announcing that trading activities at the exchange will recommence on July 25, 2024.

Additionally, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) issued an advisory stating that certain services will be temporarily suspended following the suspension of government office operations in Metro Manila.

Affected services include processing of currency-related transactions, peso real time gross settlement system (PhilPassPlus) operations, trading of US dollar-peso, and monetary operations.

“Banks can tap the Cash Service Alliance for their currency needs,” the BSP said.
