As heavy rains subsided over the past few hours, the water level at La Mesa Dam in Quezon City has slightly dropped below its spilling level of 80.15 meters.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Thursday, July 25 said La Mesa Dam’s water level dropped to 80.13 meters as of 8 a.m.
The dam exceeded its spilling level at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, July 24, before reaching its current level.
However, PAGASA warned light rains expected in the next 24 hours may still cause overflow along the Tullahan River in Quezon City, especially in Fairview, Forest Hills Subdivision, Quirino Highway, Sta. Quiteria, and San Bartolome.
Similar risks may occur in Barangay Ligon, North Expressway, and La Huerta Subdivision in Valenzuela, as well as areas in Malabon.
Residents in these areas, especially those near river banks are urged to remain vigilant and take precautionary measures.
