House Speaker Martin Romualdez couldn't help but give props to President Marcos for his "hands-on approach" to tackling the challenges caused by Typhoon "Carina".

“The President’s hands-on approach highlights the administration’s commitment to disaster response and resilience, ensuring that no Filipino is left behind in times of crisis,” Romualdez said in a statement Wednesday afternoon, July 24.

The House leader noted that Marcos personally went to the office of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) to monitor the typhoon-affected areas and coordinate efforts to provide timely and effective relief.

Many in the National Capital Region (NCR) were roused from their sleep early Wednesday morning by fast-rising floodwater.

Parts of Northern and Central Luzon were also heavily affected by Carina.

With some 20,000 food packs in tow, the Speaker’s office along with Tingog Party-list launched on Wednesday afternoon a relief operation for the flood victims.
