Gerald Anderson helps save family amid Carina onslaught

Actor Gerald Anderson was caught on cam wading in floodwater in Barangay Sto. Domingo, Quezon City amid the onslaught of Super Typhoon Carina on Wednesday, July 24.

No, he wasn't there to have fun.

He was there to save a young girl and her family.

They were all trapped inside their house, which was already submerged in dirty water.

The video went viral on social media, with many commending the actor for the good deed.

Rachelle Joy Kabayao, the uploader of the video, told ABS-CBN News that it was her sister who sent her the footage.

According to Kabayao, their family had been waiting to be rescued for some three hours before Anderson arrived in the area together with several others.

She related, "Mga 11am, nag-ask na sila sa barangay. Kaso, hindi nila ma-contact, then tumawag ulit sila. Wala pa daw available na boat. Mga 1:30pm, si Gerald nag-rescue sa kanila."
