2 roads affected in Region 2 due to ‘Carina’


TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan – The Department of Public Works and Highways-Region 2 reported affected roads as typhoon “Carina” pummeled Northern Luzon on Wednesday, July 24.

DPWH personnel clear the Nueva Vizcaya-Pangasinan Road in Barangay Imugan, Santa Fe, Nueva Vizcaya affected by a landslide.

The agency said two roads were affected with one lane passable as of Wednesday afternoon.

The Junction Gattaran-Cumao-Capissayan-Santa Margarita-Bolos Road in Barangay Alba, Baggao, Cagayan had a collapsed slope protection and cave-in road base.

Signages were installed in the area.

The Nueva Vizcaya-Pangasinan Road in Barangay Imugan, Santa Fe, Nueva Vizcaya is one lane passable due to landslide.

Clearing operations are ongoing.

All other national roads and bridges in the region are passable, the DPWH said.

The Disaster and Incident Management Teams (DIMTs) of the Regional Office (RO) and 11 District Engineering Offices (DEOs) are continuously on the round-the-clock duty to monitor the status of national roads and bridges.

Maintenance personnel and Quick Response Assets (QRAs) in all DEOs are also on standby.
