Stay safe: San Juan LGU suspends classes amid Carina rains
San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora announced the suspension of classes in all levels, both private and public schools in the city on Tuesday, July 23, due to heavy rains brought about by Typhoon Carina.

"Due to the expected heavy rains, classes on July 23, 2024, in all levels in the City of San Juan, both public and private, are hereby suspended for the safety of everyone," Zamora said in his Facebook post.
In the latest typhoon bulletin of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) issued at 5 a.m. on July 23, Typhoon Carina maintained its strength while moving north and northwestward at a speed of 10km/h.
The agency raised signal no. 1 in the following areas:
LUZON: Batanes, Babuyan Islands, the northern and eastern portions of mainland Cagayan (Santa Ana, Gattaran, Baggao, Peñablanca, Lal-Lo, Gonzaga, Buguey, Santa Teresita, Aparri, Camalaniugan, Ballesteros, Allacapan, Abulug, Pamplona, Claveria, Sanchez-Mira, Santa Praxedes, Lasam, Alcala), the eastern portion of Isabela (Divilacan, Palanan, Maconacon, Dinapigue, Tumauini, Ilagan City, San Mariano, Cabagan, San Pablo, Santa Maria), the northern portion of Apayao (Calanasan, Luna, Pudtol, Flora, Santa Marcela), the northern portion of Ilocos Norte (Pagudpud, Bangui, Adams, Dumalneg, Burgos, Vintar), the northern portion of Aurora (Dilasag, Casiguran), Polillo Islands, Calaguas Islands, and the northern portion of Catanduanes (Pandan, Bagamanoc, Panganiban, Viga, Gigmoto, Caramoran)
