Escudero most trusted, top-performing gov't official, survey shows
Senate President Francis Escudero gained significant approval among Filipinos, with 51 percent satisfied with his performance, based on the July survey by Tangere.
Moreover, nearly three-fifths or 59.58 percent of Filipinos expressed trust in his role as Senate President.
Tangere observed that distrust and dissatisfaction ratings for the Senate President were also the lowest among the top government officials in the country at 13 percent and 23 percent, respectively.
Marcos’ ratings rise
Tangere said that Filipinos’ satisfaction and trust in President Marcos continued to trend upwards in July.
A notable increase in his satisfaction (from 44.58 percent to 45 percent) and trust (from 57.71 percent to 58.21 percent) ratings was recorded.
Satisfaction and trust for the President was highest in Northern Luzon and Central Luzon, and for respondents aged 18 to 35 years old.
Distrust and dissatisfaction for the President were highest in Mindanao, particularly in Northern Mindanao, Caraga, and Davao Region, and among respondents 51 years old and above.
Duterte’s ratings decline
Tangere said Vice President Sara Duterte experienced a notable drop in both her satisfaction rating (from 50.20 percent to 49.29 percent) and trust rating (from 58.08 percent to 57.05 percent) in July.
There was also a notable increase in the Vice President’s distrust and dissatisfaction ratings during the same period.
Tangere pointed out that Duterte continued to leverage the support of Mindanao, where her trust and satisfaction were the highest.
Meanwhile dissatisfaction and distrust were highest in Central Luzon, Northern Luzon, and Bicol region.
Romualdez posts notable gains
Tangere said that satisfaction and trust for Speaker Martin Romualdez continued to trend upwards, following notable gains in his satisfaction (from 44.71 percent to 45.17 percent) and trust (from 54.75 percent to 55.13 percent) ratings in July.
The notable increases in the Speaker’s satisfaction and trust ratings were observed in Northern Luzon and Eastern Visayas.
However, distrust and dissatisfaction for Romualdez were notably higher among respondents from Mindanao and those 36 to 50 years old.
Gesmundo’s ratings improve
Similar to the previous month’s survey, Tangere said awareness and familiarity levels for Chief Justice Alexander Gesmundo barely changed in July.
However, there were notable improvements in his satisfaction and trust ratings, driven by respondents 36 to 50 years old.
The survey was conducted from July 17 to 20 using a mobile-based respondent application with a sample size of 2,500 participants, with a +/-2 percent margin of error at a 95 percent confidence level.
It employed a stratified or quota-based random sampling method.
Respondents were proportionately spread across the Philippines, with 12 percent from Metro Manila, 23 percent from Northern Luzon, 22 percent from Southern Luzon, 20 percent from Visayas, and 23 percent from Mindanao.
