Container van pulls down electric posts in Mandaluyong

Several establishments and residents suffered from power failure in Mandaluyong City after a container van accidentally pulled down electric posts and telecommunication (telco) cables as it passed through Sheridan Street in Barangay Highway Hills on Tuesday, July 23.

According to authorities, the accident occurred at around 5:15 a.m.

Due to the cables getting caught on the van, two concrete electric posts fell down, causing widespread loss of electricity and internet connection in the area.

Bantay Bayan personnel of Barangay Highway Hills said the clearing operations may take some time as there are still live wires attached to the fallen posts.

No one was reported hurt in the incident.
