CAVITE – The provincial government announced the cancellation of classes in all levels, public and private, on Tuesday, July 23, due to heavy rains brought by Typhoon Carina.

In a Facebook post evening on July 22, Gov. Jonvic Remulla reminded residents to be cautious amid the intermittent weather.

Several local government units (LGUs), meanwhile, have also announced the suspension of government work, including:

  • Bacoor City
  • Cavite City
  • Dasmariñas City
  • Imus City

Government workers involved in disaster and emergency management operations, however, are still required to perform their duties.

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration issued a yellow heavy rainfall warning in Cavite, alongside Zambales, Bataan, Metro Manila, and Batangas, at 8:00 a.m. on July 23.

Residents, especially those in flood-prone areas, are advised to be alert.
