Caren Tevanny takes things slow with latest single 'Paulit-ulit'

While iconic femme rockstar Caren Tevanny loves her high-energy presence and electrifying sound, she doesn’t mind taking things slow occasionally. 

Jumping from her previous emotive single ‘Pano’, now comes ‘Paulit-ulit’. An ode to taking things slow and steady, ‘Paulit-ulit’ talks about finding love in the most mundane and repetitive things.

‘Paulit-ulit’ is a departure from Caren’s previous work, as she aimed to follow where the sound would take her. "I pushed myself to create different sounds without overthinking it," she shared. She also enjoyed experimenting with sounds far from her typical rock sound. She digs through other artists and their music to back this philosophy up. "I've been listening to various artists and bands from the 90s, 2000s, and present. Some of my current favorites include Bring Me the Horizon, Starset, Sabrina Carpenter, Benson Boone, Eminem, Taylor Swift, Daft Punk, Laufey, St. Vincent, Barbie Almalbis, Mojofly, Modern Day Dream, One OK Rock, and Armi Millare," she shared.

As we’re halfway through the year, Caren has graced multiple stages nationwide and made several media appearances. One of her most memorable performances was at the Bacolod Jazz Festival. "While we were performing a guitar instrumental, I accidentally stepped on the guitar cables, tripped, and fell. I felt embarrassed but was determined to get up immediately since the guitar solo part was approaching. Without wasting any time, I got back on my feet just in time for the solo," she recounted.

Looking ahead, Caren revealed a major project in the works. "I am currently working on an album, and I'm hoping to finish it by the end of this year or early next year," she shared. 

To bring the upcoming album to life, she brought in different producers to bring fresh and unique sounds to the album. While there are no certain dates yet, Caren assures her fans and listeners that it will be a treat and could be in your playlists in the future.
