CAVITE – Gov. Jonvic Remulla announced the cancellation of classes in all levels, public and private, on Monday, July 22, due to possible floods.
“Mga etibakers. Malayo ang landas ni Karina. Nasa dulong hilaga ng Pinas ang daan. Pero ayon sa @dost_pagasa ito ay posibleng magdulot ng biglang pagbaha. Kaya mga bro at sis, tulog pa more (Caviteños, Carina is far from us. The path is toward the far north of the Philippines. But according to @dost_pagasa, this could potentially cause sudden flooding. So, brothers and sisters, sleep some more,” Remulla tweeted.
The governor also used the hashtag #SubaybaySONA in his post, referring to the State of the Nation Address by President Marcos.
According to the General Flood Advisory #4 released by the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) at 6:00 a.m. on July 22, light to moderate rains or thunderstorms are expected in Region 4A.
In Cavite, rivers and tributaries are likely to be affected, particularly the rivers of Laboc (Balsahan), Cañas, Ylang-ylang, Imus, and Maragondon.
