The Navotas City government on Monday, July 22, signed a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) to conduct the 2024 Census of Population and Community-Based Monitoring System CBMS (POPCEN-CBMS).

“This year’s census will provide us with factual insights into the current status of our city's population. These are essential in our efforts to deliver high-quality projects, programs, activities, and services to our fellow Navoteños,” Mayor John Rey Tiangco said.
Also present during the signing were the Regional Director of the Regional Statistical Services Office – National Capital Region (NCR) Paciano Dizon, Supervising Statistical Specialist and Officer-in-Charge of the Provincial Statistical Office – NCR IV Cynthia Laxina, and Navotas City Planning and Development Officer Engr. Rufino Serrano.
The PSA will collect statistical data and geotagging of household buildings in the city.
All the data from the Navotenos will be safeguarded by PSA and will remain secure and confidential.
They will also spearhead the recruitment and training of personnel who will conduct the census and community-based monitoring system, and provide the necessary supplies, materials, and equipment.
Meanwhile, the city government will guarantee the smooth operation of the program through the provision of sufficient funds, legal documentation, and other necessary support.
Selected employees from 18 barangays of the city will also be deputized to assist in grassroots communication, data gathering, and verification.
“I call on all Navoteños to support and participate in this important endeavor. Your honest answers will be vital in helping us understand the true needs and conditions of our community," Mayor Tiangco said.
