President Marcos said the government strives to build more infrastructure to help decrease the price of electricity for consumers.

"Batid nating lahat na ang presyo ng kuryente dito sa ating bansa ay mataas (We are aware that the price of electricity in the country is quite high)," Marcos said in his third State of the Nation Address (SONA) on Monday, July 22.
"Kaya patuloy tayo sa pagdagdag ng mga imprastraktura ng kuryente na magpapababa ng presyo sa kalaunan (That's why we continue to add power infrastructure to decrease eventually decrease the power rates)," he added.
On the other hand, the President assured power consumers that the government is undertaking measures to ease some of their burden.
He particularly mentioned the Lifeline Rate program for the poor, especially the beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps).
Next, Marcos noted the temporary suspension of the feed-in tariff allowance (FIT-All) in the electric bill last year until the suspension was lifted in February this year.
The FIT-All is a uniform charge imposed on all on-grid electricity consumers. This ensures the development and promotion of renewable energy in the country.
President Marcos then cited the Anti-Bill Shock program, which provided financing to distribution utilities at concessional rates, enabling them to spread out the incremental increases in their customer’s billing without passing the borrowing cost to consumers.
Marcos likewise mentioned the suspension of the Wholesale Electricity Spot Market when the Luzon at Visayas grids were placed under Red Alert.
Lastly, President Marcos mentioned refunding and removing additional charges to consumers, particularly the franchise fee.
