Gunrunner falls in Baguio buy-bust

BAGUIO CITY – Police arrested a suspected gunrunner in a buy-bust operation here on July 20.

The Baguio City Police Office discovered the suspect's illegal activities through social media where he advertised a caliber.45 pistol and ammunition for sale.

An undercover policeman successfully negotiated a transaction with the suspect. They agreed to meet in a restaurant on Chugum St.  

The 32-year-old suspect was arrested after he sold a caliber.45 pistol, two magazines, and bullets valued at P50,000.

Cases for violating Republic Act 10591, the Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition, were filed against the suspect.

Marking and inventory of seized pieces of evidence were conducted on-site in the presence of the suspect and witnesses.
