DPWH, Coast Guard ready for ‘Carina’


TUGUEGARAO CITY, Cagayan – The 11 Department of Public Works and Highways-Region 2 District Engineering Offices and the Coast Guard have activated their Quick Response Teams (QRTs) for tropical cyclone “Carina.”

The DPWH has prepositioned Quick Response Assets (QRAs) and the Maintenance Division are monitoring national roads and bridges in Cagayan Valley.

The Coast Guard District Northeastern Luzon said all Deployable Response Teams have been activated and standby for emergency deployments.

Commander Capt. Ludovico D. Librilla Jr. directed all Coast Guard stations and substations to maintain the highest state of readiness.

Librilla asssured that their search and rescue gear, as well as their vehicles and rescue boats, are fully operational and prepared to tackle any weather-related emergencies or disasters.

He urged the people to take safety precautionary measures as the severe tropical storm lingers.
