House Senior Deputy Majority Leader Ilocos Norte 1st district Rep. Sandro Marcos was among the early birds on the red carpet during pre-State of the Nation Address (SONA) arrivals Monday afternoon, July 22 at Batasang Pambansa Complex in Quezon City.

One detail that people rushed to see when Rep. Marcos stepped foot within the north lobby was whether or not he brought a date.

As it turned out, the presidential son didn't bring a date. But he was far from alone; he had his fellow "Young Guns" bloc members with him.

La Union 1st district Rep. Paulo Ortega V, Ako-Bicol Party-list Rep. Jil Bongalon, 1-Rider Party-list Rep. Rodge Gutierrez, and others served as Rep. Marcos' trusty wingmen as he glided across the red carpet, with most of the cameras fixated on the latter.

Rep. Marcos, 30, arrived at just past 2 p.m.; his father President Marcos will deliver the SONA at around 4 p.m. within the plenary hall.

In a short chit-chat with reporters, Rep. Marcos shared that the SONA will be "an hour and a half" long.

House members are allowed to bring a "plus one" to the annual SONA. This slot is usually given to the solon's spouse or significant other.

Rep. Marcos attended the morning plenary session, also held at Batasang Pambansa Complex.
