5 wanted persons fall in Surigao del Norte


BUTUAN CITY – Police arrested five wanted persons in Surigao del Norte on July 19 and 20.

Surigao del Norte police chief Police Col. Laudemer M. Laude, in a report to Police Regional Office-13 Director Police Brig. Gen. Alan M. Nazarro, identified the suspects as a 37-year-old male from Placer town; a legal-age male from Mainit town, for rape; a 24-year-old fisherman from Dapa for qualified theft; a 33-year-old welder from San Francisco for child abuse, and an elderly male farmer from Alegria for statutory rape.

Their warrants of arrest were issued by the 5th Judicial Region, Branch 18, Batac City, Ilocos Norte; the 10th Judicial Region, Branches 29 and 30 in Surigao City; Branch 31 in Dapa, and Branch 32 in San Jose, Surigao del Norte.

The suspects are in the custody of apprehending municipal police stations and awaiting further legal proceedings.

Laude cited the Mainit, Placer, Del Carmen, San Francisco, and Alegria Municipal Stations capturing these wanted persons. 

“I commend the dedicated Surigao del Norte Police officers involved in this swift and decisive operation,” he said. 

“We will continue to be relentless in our pursuit of justice, ensuring that those who threaten the peace and safety of our communities are held accountable,” Laude said. “Let this serve as a clear message: Crime has no place in Surigao del Norte.”
