Razalan cites gains in 3 months as Iloilo top cop


ILOILO CITY – Police Col. Bayani Razalan bared his accomplishments over the weekend in three months as officer-in-charge of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO).

“We have achieved the milestones because of the unwavering trust and cooperation,” said Razalan.

Razalan became the police chief of the province consisting of 42 towns and the component city of Passi on April 19. He replaced Col. Ronaldo Palomo.

The campaign against illegal drugs highlighted Razalan’s three-month leadership. More than P25.8 million worth of shabu  was seized from 145 drug suspects in 113 anti-drug operations from April 19 to July 19.

In the campaign against wanted persons, 317,  62 of whom were most wanted, were arrested.  

Seventy persons were arrested in 34 operations and P41,000 in bet money was seized in the campaign against illegal gambling.

In collaboration with the Bantay Dagat Task Forces, the IPPO arrested 24 individuals for illegal fishing and  P405,000 worth of illegally harvested fish were confiscated.

The IPPO collaborated with the Provincial Task Force Anti-Overloading and apprehended 103 drivers for illegal quarrying. Trucks with sand and gravel were also impounded.
