“Sa ngayon, ang ating mga kapulisan sa buong rehiyon ay nakahanda at nakaalerto upang masiguro ang maayos at matiwasay na pagdaraos ng paparating na ika-3rd SONA 2024 ng ating butihing Pangulo (The PRO 4-A is on alert to ensure the peaceful conduct of the SONA),” Lucas said.
PRO 4-A personnel are ready for deployment as reinforcement for the event that is expected to draw protest actions nationwide, Lucas said.
Police, the Land Transportation Office, Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board, and other units have been deployed within border control points and strategic security control points across the region to ensure the safety and security of the people.
Lucas encouraged people who have no essential business on Monday to stay home to avoid inconvenience and ensure their safety as numerous checkpoints will be conducted on national roads.
More police will be visible on the streets and various places working alongside other government agencies to ensure the safe observance of SONA, he said.
Lucas said to ensure that deployed police officers perform their duties effectively, red teams have been assigned to monitor and supervise their activities on the field.
He urged protesters to conduct their activities in a peaceful and orderly manner to ensure the safety of the people during the SONA.
“Rest assured that we will observe and exercise maximum tolerance in every scenario to the best of our ability, which is a constant directive I give to our police force here in Calabarzon,” Lucas added.
