"Congratulations, Rianne Malixi, on your remarkable achievement as the US Girls Junior Champion! Your dedication, hard work, and passion for golf have truly paid off, and you have made our country immensely proud. Mabuhay (Love live)!" Nograles said in a statement Sunday afternoon, July 21.
"As a fellow woman, I am incredibly proud to see you paving the way and proving that women can excel and lead in any field. Once again, congratulations, Rianne!" she said.
Earlier that day, news outlet reported that Malixi, 17, bagged the US Girls' Junior title after routing Asterisk Talle.
The finals took place at El Caballero Country Club in Tarzana, California.
"As a shining example of Filipino pride, your victory brings honor not only to yourself but to the entire nation. Your success serves as an inspiration to young athletes everywhere, showing them that with perseverance and determination, dreams do come true," Nograles said.
"We are thrilled to celebrate this milestone with you and look forward to witnessing your future successes on and off the golf course," added the Davao-based solon.
