25 fugitives nabbed in Caraga

BUTUAN CITY – Police arrested 25 wanted persons in the Caraga region on Friday, July 19.

Police Regional Office 13-Regional Public Information Office chief Police Major Jennifer S. Ometer said 13 were apprehended by the Surigao del Sur police, Surigao del Norte police, five; Butuan City police, four, and the Agusan del Sur, Agusan del Norte, and Dinagat Islands police one each.

Four of them were most wanted persons (MWPs).

Among those arrested was Gun, 63, ninth MWP in Surigao del Sur. Gun was caught in San Miguel, Surigao del Sur.

The suspect was wanted for two counts of rape and his warrant of arrest dated November 30, 2023 was issued by the Regional Trial Court, Branch 40, 11th Judicial Region, Tandag City, Surigao del Sur. Bail was P200,000 per each case, Ometer said.

PRO-13 Director Police Brig. Gen. Alan M. Nazarro commended arresting units.

“These accomplishments highlight the dedication and commitment of Caraga cops in serving and protecting the people,” he said. “Rest assured that we will not rest until justice is served for the victims of these wanted persons.”
