Pasay snaps Quezon's winning run; Zamboanga, Abra trip MPBL foes

Laurenz Victoria drained the last five points for Pasay, which climbed to a 12-7 win-loss record that boosted its bid for a spot in the playoffs.

He finished with 13 points and five assists.

While Victoria stepped up in the crunch, Axel Inigo delivered throughout and finished with 19 points, eight assists, four rebounds and two steals.

Warren Bonifacio also contributed 15 points and four boards, even as Dhon Reverente and Brian Wendel chipped in 11 points apiece.

Quezon trimmed its 65-48 deficit to 81-76, but Victoria’s three-point play with 1:37 left kept Pasay at bay.

Xyrus Torres, who buried a triple for the Huskers, had a chance to send the game into overtime but missed his three-point attempt at the buzzer.

Juel Fuentes scored 13 points in a losing effort for Quezon, while Topeng Lagrama and Lucena City Mayor Mark Alcala had 13 and 12 points, respectively.

In other games, Abra subdued South Cotabato, 73-64, while Zamboanga Master Sardines bested Quezon City TODA Aksyon, 89-85.
The Abra Weavers, sparked by John Sedurifa's 10 points and eight rebounds, rallied from an early 23-5 deficit to improve to a 11-7 slate and pull down the Warriors to 13-6 mark.
Zamboanga, meanwhile, improved to 15-3 behind Jaycee Marcelino's 16 points, nine assists and eight rebounds,

Quezon City fell to 8-11 despite the 21-point effort of John Paul Cauilan.
