Police Lt. Col. Anthony Grande, Himamaylan police chief, said that the victim went to the house of her 32-year-old live-in partner to get her things when she was stabbed by the suspect with a jungle knife.

A concerned citizen, who was standing near their house, heard the victim shouting for help and saw her being stabbed by the suspect.

The victim sustained stab wounds in the chest, stomach, and neck. She was declared dead in a hospital.

Hours before the incident, the victim and the suspect met in the barangay to discuss the custody of their three children.

Police said that they are unaware if the victim and the suspect figured in an argument before the killing.

The victim returned to the country last July 6 after working in Saudia Arabia for two years.

The suspect alleged that she was having an affair with a man from Negros Occidental after seeing them together in photos on Facebook.

Murder charges were filed on Saturday, July 20, against the suspect who was arrested in their house.
