'Butchoy' now outside PAR; 'Carina' maintains strength


The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) announced on Saturday, July 20, that Tropical Depression (TD) Butchoy has exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

In its latest bulletin at 11 a.m., PAGASA reported that as of 10 a.m., TD Butchoy was located 565 kilometers (km) west of Iba, Zambales, moving west northwestward at a speed of 10 kilometers per hour (kph).

The tropical depression had maximum sustained winds of 55 kph near the center and gusts of up to 70 kph.

Meanwhile, PAGASA noted that TD Carina has maintained its strength, with maximum sustained winds of 55 kph and gusts of up to 70 kph. TD Carina is moving west northwestward at 30 kph.

Despite maintaining its strength, no tropical cyclone signals have been raised anywhere in the country.
