1st Philippine International Flower Festival Set in September

The Philippines is set to host its first-ever international flower festival, "Bountiful Blooms," at One Ayala Mall in Makati from September 19 to 22, 2024. This landmark event promises to be a vibrant celebration of floriculture, drawing attention to the beauty and potential of the country's flower industry.

A FLORAL EXTRAVAGANZA

"Bountiful Blooms" will be a showcase of creativity and horticultural expertise. Attendees can expect an array of activities, including floral designing, garden landscaping, and a comprehensive trade show. There will be specialized exhibits on Ikebana, the traditional Japanese art of flower arrangement, Bonsai, and a dazzling array of orchids.

Adding to the excitement, a floral fashion show curated by US-based designer Jerry Sibal will feature international artists, promising a fusion of floral artistry and haute couture.

NETWORKING AND GROWTH OPPORTUNITIES

Sibal, a renowned floral designer known for his work on weddings, corporate events, and charity balls, is spearheading the festival. He emphasizes that "Bountiful Blooms" will present a unique opportunity for Filipino horticulturists and florists to network, sustain, and expand their reach.

"This festival is not just about showcasing beautiful flowers; it’s about building a global flower export industry in the Philippines and attracting local and foreign investors to Philippine floriculture," he said.

FESTIVAL GOALS AND VISION

The festival has ambitious goals that align with broader economic and community development objectives:

Building a Global Flower Export Industry: Positioning the Philippines as a major player in the international flower market.

Attracting Investments: Drawing both local and foreign investors to fuel the growth of the Philippine floriculture industry.

Creating Sustainable Livelihoods: Providing farmers and growers with sustainable income opportunities.

Sibal's ultimate goal is to elevate the Philippines as a leading flower producer in the region, rivaling the likes of Thailand, Taiwan, and Vietnam. With his extensive experience and vision, he believes that "Bountiful Blooms" can be a catalyst for significant growth and recognition of the Philippine flower industry.

As "Bountiful Blooms" approaches, excitement is building among florists, horticulturists, and flower enthusiasts. This festival is not just an event; it's a celebration of the Philippines' potential to bloom on the global stage.
